Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment
This qualification is intended for assessors who assess occupational competence in an individual’s work environment and assess the knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices that underpin assessment. Learners will be assessed by observation, examining the products of work and questioning/discussions.

How this course is structured
To be awarded the Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment, learners are required to successfully complete 2 mandatory units:
- Understanding the principles and practices of assessment
- Assess occupational competence in the work environment
Entry Criteria
The qualification is designed for learners aged 19 and above. There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this qualification. However learners may find it helpful if they’ve already achieved a Level 2 qualification.
